Apartment vacancies fall

“With the past two quarters showing vacancy rates around five-and-a-half percent, we’re starting to see a return to vacancy rates we haven’t seen for 10 years,” said Ryan McMaken, a spokesperson with the Colorado Division of Housing. “This can be at least partly explained by the fact that the number of new households formed has been steady, but the number of new rental units added to the market is at a 10-year low.”
