Micro-apartments squeeze into downtown

After biting around the edges of downtown neighborhoods, the micro-unit phenomenon is hitting the middle of downtown.

Nichols Partnership is planning a 91-unit micro-apartment development at 15th and Wewatta streets, coming off of its Turntable Studios mini-living project. Project Manager Melissa Rummel said they’re aiming for business travelers and new-to-town renters with furnished rooms and variable leases.

“We’re going to try and have shorter lease terms in anticipation there will be many business clients coming downtown for a few months at a time rather than a year at a time,” she said.
